If you plan to go down to the woods today and a Swiss Army knife isn't high-tech enough, maybe you need the I-Quip (short for Intelligent Equipment for the Outdoors) survival tool. As well as packing a range of stainless-steel blades, regular and Phillips head screwdriver, corkscrew, scissors, cap lifter, can opener, saw, signal mirror, red LED flashlight, lighter compartment and a survival whistle (gasp), it also houses a "computer module" with digital compass, barometer, thermometer, altimeter and a clock/stopwatch/alarm clock unit. Of course, whether you'll ever use all these features is another matter entirely. The I-Quip is $699.
